Our Mission
At Dewan Solar, we believe the most lasting help is the kind that helps people help themselves. That conviction has guided John and Susan Dewan for decades, and it is at the heart of everything we do. We partner with nonprofits and other mission-driven organizations to make clean energy affordable and achievable, so the savings stay with the people and communities our partners serve. Every dollar our partners do not spend on a utility bill is a dollar that can go toward the vital work they lead.
Our work is also shaped by the urgent reality that climate change hits hardest on those least able to bear it. Rising temperatures, droughts, floods and failing harvests are already forcing families around the world from their homes. We believe no one should become a climate refugee, and that doing our part to prevent this crisis begins with how we choose to power our lives today. Every renewable energy project we complete reduces carbon emissions and moves our communities one step closer to a sustainable future.
Laudato si'
In Laudato Si’, Pope Francis calls on all of us to care for our common home and to hear both the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor. Dewan Solar exists to answer that call. By bringing renewable energy to the organizations that serve our neighbors, we care for creation and for one another at the same time, because protecting the planet and lifting up those in need are, in the end, the same mission.
